The Very Nature of Christ

During my morning devotional time the Lord really impressed upon me His nature and heart towards us.  Jesus walked and displayed this while He was upon this earth.  His very nature and heart tells me that He loves people over tradition, mercy over sacrifice and relationship over religion.

I would say this if you go to a church or belong to a denomination that teaches you otherwise you need prayerfully leave.  Let me give some examples if you are told that to be pleasing to God you must dress or look a certain way or that complete no questioning obedience  to those in leadership is required while  using scriptures that say “Don’t touch the Lords anointed or Obedience is better than sacrifice.  I would tell you to study the bible for yourself the Holy Ghost is the great teacher and would not have you be ignorant of such things.  Study to show yourself worthy!

God loves you to much to put you under the yoke of man.

The Heart and Character of the Father

Judges 10:11-16

11 The LORD replied, “When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines, 12 the Sidonians, the Amalekites and the Maonites[a] oppressed you and you cried to me for help, did I not save you from their hands?

13 But you have forsaken me and served other gods, so I will no longer save you.

14 Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you when you are in trouble!”

15 But the Israelites said to the LORD, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.”

16 Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the LORD. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer. (NIV)

This morning during my study time these scriptures spoke very loudly to me about the heart and character of the Father. Nothing moves the heart of God like a broken spirit and a contrite heart.

It is at this moment that we realize what a mess we have made of our lives. When we decide to let go, of all that we think we are and the why me spirit we have just given God the room to work in us.

It is at that moment that we lay down our pride and look towards the Cross where there was no pride to be found.

Pride is what got Satan kicked out of Heaven!

A broken Savior on the Cross is the only way for sinful man to enter through the gates to the streets of gold where we get to worship the “Great I am”

If you are reading this please and you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior please don’t let the sun go down on this day without accepting His sacrifice, He is waiting and wants eternal fellowship with you! He loves you so much and sees what you have been through and what you will go through!

Servant Leadership

In ministry you are called into a life of a servant  leader.  Jesus told us in His word that Jesus came to minister and not to be ministered to.  How is that many today have we lost that mind set?

Servant leadership is leadership that is born out of love.  This love is the same love that hung Christ on the Cross. This is the same love that kept Christ on the Cross.   There is no room in the heart of a servant for pride.  A servant never says “Will you serve me”?  A servant says “How may I serve you”  Christ on the Cross says I came to serve and not to be served.

Jesus told His Disciples not to lord their positions like the gentiles.  Christ said that He is meek in Spirit.  Meek in Spirit does not lord.  Christ was born in a manager and had no place to call home.  Ministers you must not lord your position over those that you serve.   Let those who minister do so with a fair hand and out of love for God.

Capernaum

If Sodom had seen the miracles that Capernaum had she would have repented and not been destroyed.
Capernaum loved the miracles but not the one who performed those miracles. Jesus called them to repentance but by and far the people refused.
It is not any different today people receive healings and blessings and yet still refuse to bend their knee and heart to Jesus and turn away from the world that only promises pain and heartbreak.
My prayer is that we would not fall into that trap. Lets us receive the healings and blessings of the Lord but never let us forget the one that gave it all for us.

On the 3rd day!

This morning in prayer it was impressed upon me that in my life I need a 3 day resurrection. I need the power that raised Christ from the dead. This power in my daily life, in my marriage, in my walk with Christ. With this power what was old is now new, what was dead is now alive, what was broken is now being repaired, what was a joke to man now has eternal value.

To live a Christ first life is about putting things in proper order and cleaning out the junk that we make worthy of our time and talents.

I need to lay hold to the death of my flesh so I can have the promise of an abundant life that has been promised to all believers. This is not about salvation it’s about walking with Lord, it’s about living this life with the promises of God, it’s about our 3 day resurrection.

Lord create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit! I need you this day as much I needed you the day I dropped myself on your altar and asked You to commune with me and to be my Lord and savior.

Like Christ loved the church

Men, as husbands it is our biggest responsibility is to love our wife’s life Christ loved His church, who gave His life. Men we need to pray for our wives, we need to cover them daily. We are their spiritual covering we must battle daily for their souls.

We are at war for our families don’t take this tasking lightly God does not. Our marriage is covenant between us and Him. He is our covering and we are wife’s covering. Satan would love to breakup marriages and families. We must battle him with the full armor of God.

In this day and age most of us have a past and we bring that baggage to our marriages. It is this past that Satan will most likely us to harm our marriages but we must resist evil and watch it flee, all for the glory of God and His wonderful Son Jesus Christ.

We are called to be the spiritual leaders of our household and I for one have been very delinquent in my responsibilities in this calling.
I said calling, we men of Christ are called to be husbands and covering for our wife’s. This is before we can answer any other call that God has on our life’s. We must start at home before we can get anywhere in the Lord.

Why do you think that the divorce rate is as high inside the church as outside the church. Satan is winning the war in our families.

Please think about this and pray but it is time for us to step up to the plate and do what we have been called for. In the name of Jesus and the blood that was shed on the Cross. He is the healer in our earthly body and in our one flesh body of marriage.

Idol Worship for Dummies

God never changes. He is the same yesterday and today. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus said I am who I say I am. God “AKA The Burning Bush” told Moses that I am the great I am. So the table is set. God is Jesus and Jesus is God. God is a spirit and Jesus is God in the flesh.

Jesus did not come to do away with the law but to fulfill the law. Jesus came to prove the prophets true.

Who is your god today? Who Do you serve today? Who is your idol today? Could our idols are the made of metal and money? Is your idol you? Is your God the one true living God?

We can have idols today. Idols are anything or anyone that get in the way of God, His plans and our relationship with Him. Ok so for clarification idols are anything that becomes more important to you than Jesus.

Let’s do the idol worshipper Litmus test

– Do you work so many hours you can’t go to church?
– Do you love sports so much that you spend more time in front of the T.V. than with God?
– Are you so in love with a person that you put this person on the throne of your heart before Christ?
– Do you seek the trappings of this world rather than a relationship with Christ?
– Do you spend more time on Face book then your bible? Do you check your email before you check your knee mail?
– Do you love the gifts of God more than the giver of the gifts?

Chances are good that if you have answered yes to anyone of the above listed questions that you in fact are a idol worshipper!!!!!

“Hi my name is Mike” and I have been a idol worshipper off and on in my walk with God. My Jesus who is so loving , He always reminds me that I am going down a dangerous path. One morning as I was sitting at my computer “goofing off” instead of spending my morning devotional time with Him; He told me in the sweetest and just so matter of fact manner, “Mike it’s Ok to have hobbies but it’s not Ok to have idols.”

I know that God enjoys the time I spend with Him, I know that He looks forward to the time we spend together, for I know that my God is crazy about me!!!! That’s why it’s called a relationship not religion.

I pray that the I never let the world drown out the voice of God. Is that your prayer today?

What Cross Will Carry Today?????

God is not here to trip us up. He is not sitting in the Heavenly realms laughing at what we go through. He is not looking for a reason to put an end to our very lives. He has a father’s heart for us and is always trying to woo us back to Him for the relationship that He sent His wonderful son to die for.

For God gave His only begotten Son, yes He gave Him to us a sinful bunch of people who are in rebellion and steeped in sin. All we must do is believe. What does it mean to believe? The action here is the word believe. Jesus said for us to pick up our crosses and follow Him. What is your Cross today that you bear. We all have a Cross to bear. The word of God tells us that He will not give us more than we can bear, God is not a man who He should lie. The truth is we give ourselves more to bear than God would ever give. We give ourselves burdens we are not ment to carry.

The love of Christ was poured out on the ground when His side was pirced for our transgressions. He bore His cross first.

He is not looking for a reason to smote us, He is calling us back to Himself.

When God Ran

Almighty God, the great I am
Immovable rock, omnipotent, powerful, awesome Lord
Victorious warrior, commanding King of Kings
Mighty conqueror, and the only time
the only time I ever saw Him run

Was when He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise when God ran

The day I left home I knew I’d broken His heart
And I wondered then if things could ever be the same
Then one night I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road ahead I could see
It was the only time – it was the only time I ever saw Him run

And then He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise as He brought me to my knees
When God ran – I saw Him run to me

I was so ashamed, all alone and so far away
But now I know He’s been waiting for this day

I saw Him run to me, He took me in His arms

Grow My faith

Jesus, I need Your faith today!!!!  The faith that see’s the dead raised, the blind eyes opened, the deaf ears that hear.  The type of faith that see’s the strongholds in my life broken.  The faith that see’s the captives freed.   The faith to trust You in my life and to let go and let You have control.   The faith to get out of the boat and keep my eyes on You and not on me.   I just need more of You and less of me.  I grow weary of me and the choices that I have made.

Please forgive me for not trusting You and walking with you while my eyes are on myself.
